PRIVACY POLICY

Privacy should be clear.

This policy explains what Omnelo processes, why it is needed, who may process it for us, and the choices available to you.

1. Overview

Omnelo is a managed, voice-first English speaking-practice app with free and paid features. The mobile app uses Omnelo-operated backend services for conversations, feedback, learning history, and account features. In this policy, “Omnelo”, “we”, and “us” refer to the developer and operator of the official Omnelo service.

This policy applies to the official Omnelo mobile app, omnelo.app, and related support services. Source code that we publish separately may be run independently by third parties. Those deployments are not operated or controlled by Omnelo, and their operators are responsible for their own privacy notices and data practices.

2. Information we process

Depending on the features you use, Omnelo processes:

  • Launch-list information, including the email address you submit and the time you consented to receive launch updates.
  • Account information, such as your email address, sign-in identifier, preferred explanation language, English level, and learning goals.
  • Conversation information, including microphone audio transmitted for speech processing, transcripts, conversation messages, corrections, vocabulary, feedback, and session history.
  • Learning information, such as recurring language patterns, saved corrections, completed practice, Notebook items, and progress signals.
  • Purchase and entitlement information, if and when paid plans are offered: the product purchased, subscription or credit entitlement, transaction status, and the store-provided transaction identifier. Omnelo never receives your payment-card number from Google Play or Apple.
  • Technical information, such as app version, device and operating-system details, language, approximate region, crash reports, diagnostic events, and security logs.
  • Support and safety information that you choose to include when contacting us, reporting an AI response, or requesting account deletion.

3. How we use information

We use launch-list email addresses to send requested product-launch and platform-availability updates. We use other information to authenticate users, operate conversations, transcribe speech, generate relevant feedback, explain corrections and translations, personalize future practice, maintain account and purchase entitlements, provide support, prevent abuse, diagnose problems, and understand whether the product is helping learners.

We do not sell personal information. We do not use private voice recordings, transcripts, or learning history for unrelated advertising.

4. Voice, transcripts, and AI

When you start a voice feature, speech is turned into text either on your own device or on Omnelo’s own servers. Your audio is never sent to a third-party speech-recognition service, and it is not stored: it is transcribed as it arrives and then discarded, so there is no recording to keep. Transcripts, conversation messages, and relevant learning context can then be processed by AI providers to continue the conversation, translate or explain language, and produce feedback.

Microphone access is requested for the voice feature you choose to use. You can remove that permission in your device settings, but voice features will stop working.

Omnelo’s goal is to distinguish a learner’s language pattern from a recognition error. Automated transcripts, translations, corrections, and learning signals can still be wrong. They do not create legal or similarly significant decisions about you.

We will not use your private voice recordings to train a public or shared AI model without clear, separate opt-in permission.

5. Service providers and sharing

We keep the list of outside processors deliberately short. Conversation text is sent to OpenRouter (United States), which routes it to the AI model that produces replies, corrections, and explanations. We also use providers for server hosting and email delivery. Speech recognition and speech synthesis run on our own infrastructure or on your device, so no provider receives your audio. We do not use third-party analytics or crash-reporting services. If in-app purchases are offered, Google Play and Apple process them under their own privacy terms.

We may also disclose limited information when required by law, to protect users and the service, or as part of a business transaction with appropriate notice and safeguards. We do not sell personal information.

You can contact privacy@omnelo.app for current information about the provider categories involved in processing.

7. Retention and deletion

We keep launch-list information until the relevant launch updates have been sent or you ask us to remove it. Account profiles, transcripts, learning history, and saved feedback are retained while your account is active so that progress can carry across sessions. Operational logs, support and safety reports, and transaction records may follow shorter or longer schedules based on their purpose, security needs, store requirements, and applicable law. Voice audio is not part of this: none is retained, so there is no audio retention period.

A web deletion request stores the registered email, request time, and request status so we can verify and complete the request. You can request removal from the launch list by emailing privacy@omnelo.app. You can request account deletion through the public account deletion page without reinstalling the app. When a verified request is completed, personal account and learning data will be deleted or de-identified unless limited retention is required for security, fraud prevention, disputes, financial recordkeeping, or another legal obligation. Backup copies are removed through the normal protected backup cycle.

8. Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, restrict, object to, or delete personal information. You may also withdraw optional consent and unsubscribe from launch communications. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.

You can control microphone permission through your device. Without microphone access, voice-conversation features will not work.

9. Children

Omnelo is designed for adult and older-teen learners and is not directed to children under 13. A higher minimum age may apply in some regions. We will not knowingly collect personal information from a child in violation of applicable law.

10. International processing and security

Service providers may process information in countries other than your own. Where required, we use appropriate transfer mechanisms. We use access controls, encryption in transit, and other technical and organizational safeguards intended to protect information, but no online service can promise absolute security.
